Assam Police Arrest Three from Meghalaya with Fake Currency in Guwahati
The Assam Police arrested three individuals from Meghalaya in Guwahati’s Sundarpur area and seized 46 pieces of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) from their possession. The notes were found inside a vehicle with registration number ML-06-8742. Along with the counterfeit notes, four mobile phones and materials suspected to be used in producing the fake currency were recovered. Two suspects, Ariven K Marwein and Shemboknongsiej, hail from West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, while the third is yet to be identified. An FIR will be lodged at Dispur police station. This comes weeks after a similar FICN racket was busted in Khanapara.
