Assam Police Capture Car Hijacking Gang, Recover Stolen Vehicle and Cash
On Saturday night, Kaliabor Police in Assam apprehended three members of an active car hijacking gang operating on the national highway. Following complaints from local residents about vehicle seizures, a joint operation by Kaliabor subdivision police and Samguri police resulted in the arrest of the culprits at Missa village. The gang, identified as Papu Bora, Saiful Islam, and Mahmood Hussain, was captured with a stolen Tata Yodha vehicle (registration: AS 02 CC 7561) and over Rs 1 lakh in cash. A case has been registered, and the police suspect a larger nexus at play, launching further investigations into the matter. Similar incidents in the Kaliabor region over the past few months prompted the police to initiate the probe and operation.
