Assam Police Officer-in-Charge Ends Life, Triggers Investigation

In a shocking incident, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Namrup Police Station, Anupam Gowala, allegedly ended his life by shooting himself with his service pistol in Dibrugarh district, Assam. The incident took place at Rangpuria in Lahowal locality around 2 am. Alongside the tragic suicide, a woman named Bishnupriya Lahon Gogoi sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Assam Medical College and Hospital in critical condition. The deceased OC’s body was discovered at the residence of a man identified as Bipul Gogoi in Rangpuria. Dibrugarh Police officials have reached the scene, initiating an investigation into the incident.
