Assam Police Rescue Abducted Students; Swift Action Thwarts Kidnapping Attempt

Manikpur Police in Assam’s Bongaigaon district successfully rescued three students from Guwahati who were allegedly abducted by unidentified miscreants. The students, reportedly taken from a boys’ hostel in Bongaigaon, were located in Guwahati’s Chatribari locality through swift mobile tracking by the police.

Initial reports suggested that Minhaz Talukdar, Rubul Ali, and Nazrul Haque were abducted from Sonaikula Shankar Azan Jatiya Vidyalaya’s boys’ hostel. However, the police’s rapid response led to their recovery in Guwahati. Bharalu Police in Guwahati collaborated in the rescue operation.

Subsequent investigations revealed that a student named Mominul Islam had sent the trio to Guwahati on a bus. A resident of Guwahati recognized them at the bus station, took them to Chatribari, and promptly informed the police.

The incident, initially reported as a late-night disappearance from the hostel, involved Rubul Ali, a candidate for the HSLC examinations in 2024, and Minhaz Talukdar and Nazrul Haque, both Class 8 students. The police’s efficient intervention not only ensured the safe recovery of the students but also exposed the involvement of a fellow student in their transportation to Guwahati.
