Assam Poll Campaign Heats Up Amid Political Attacks

As the Assam Assembly elections near, campaigning has intensified across the state despite poor weather conditions.
Gaurav Gogoi, addressing a rally in Titabor, backed Congress candidate Pran Kurmi and invoked former CM Tarun Gogoi. He accused Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of betrayal and called for his political defeat.
Gogoi claimed rising support for Congress, criticised BJP’s development record, and questioned its accountability. He also raised concerns over law-and-order issues and political interference.
Commenting on the controversy involving Badruddin Ajmal, Gogoi condemned both sides and called for responsible leadership and independent governance.
