Assam Public Service Commission Introduces Transparent Evaluation with Carbon Copy OMR Sheets in 2023 Preliminary Exam

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) is set to implement a notable change in the upcoming Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2023. For the first time, examinees will be provided with an Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet accompanied by a carbon copy, enhancing transparency in the evaluation process. Candidates will be allowed to retain their carbon copy, marking a significant step towards openness in the examination system. The preliminary exam, scheduled for March 17, will take place across 32 district headquarters in the state, with 67,252 candidates vying for 235 posts in various services. APSC Chairman BB Dev Choudhury has also called for the imposition of Section 144 CrPC within 100 meters of examination centers as a precautionary measure.
