Assam Ranks Low in National School Education Assessment

Assam ranked in the second lowest grade in the Union Education Ministry’s latest Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0, scoring between 461–520. It is tenth from the bottom among 36 states and UTs. Assam saw a drop in ‘Access’ scores and ranked poorly in ‘Teacher Education’, just above Meghalaya. Though it improved in infrastructure, overall performance remains weak.
