Assam Rifles Assist in Overnight Firefighting Operation in Nagaland’s Noklak

NOKLAK, Nagaland, October 20: Assam Rifles personnel joined firefighting efforts at Danlepdong in Noklak after a major fire broke out in the area, providing additional support to civil fire brigades and helping prevent the blaze from spreading further.
According to an official post by the Assam Rifles on X, personnel deployed a water bowser, a medical ambulance and a Quick Reaction Team to assist the emergency response. The troops continued working through the night, and the fire was brought under control by dawn, according to the force.
The incident was reported on the evening of October 17, when a house at Danlepdong Colony was gutted by fire. Local media reported that the house, which included a kitchen and five rooms, was completely destroyed, while a shortage of water posed challenges for those fighting the blaze.
The Assam Rifles said its personnel worked alongside local responders to limit further damage to vulnerable wooden structures. The operation highlights the role of coordination between security personnel and civilian emergency services during local disasters.
