Assam Rifles Seize Counterfeit Cigarettes and Cannabis in Assam, Tripura

Assam Rifles carried out two major seizures in Assam and Tripura, dealing a blow to smuggling and drug networks. In Cachar district, a joint operation with police led to the seizure of counterfeit cigarettes worth about Rs 36 lakh.

In Tripura’s Sepahijala district, Assam Rifles and Customs recovered 485.25 kg of dry cannabis valued at Rs 68.73 lakh. Both operations were intelligence-driven, and further investigations are underway to identify those involved.
