Assam Schools Introduce Water Bell to Combat Rising Temperatures

In response to rising temperatures, the Elementary Education Department of Assam’s Kamrup Metropolitan District issued a directive on Wednesday for schools to ring a “water bell” three times daily to ensure students stay hydrated. The notification also advised schools to hold morning assemblies indoors, either in classrooms or verandas, rather than in open spaces. This measure aims to protect students from heat-related incidents.
