Assam State Zoo Welcomes New Animals from Delhi Exchange

The Assam State Zoo and Botanical Garden recently expanded its collection through an animal exchange with the National Zoological Park (NZP) in Delhi. The zoo received leucistic blackbucks, a female rhinoceros, a Royal Bengal tigress, regular blackbucks, and exotic blue and gold macaws. These new arrivals are expected to be popular attractions, especially the leucistic blackbucks with their unique pale coloration. In return, Assam Zoo sent a male rhinoceros, a Bengal tiger, and oriental pied hornbills to Delhi. The exchange, delayed due to Delhi’s summer heat, is part of ongoing conservation efforts.
