Assam STF Seizes Rs. 5.55 Lakh in Fake Currency, Arrests Two

In a major crackdown on counterfeit currency, Assam’s Special Task Force (STF) intercepted a vehicle and arrested two individuals in Guwahati’s Gota-Nagar on May 25. Acting on specific intelligence, the STF seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) worth Rs. 5,55,500, consisting of 1111 notes in the 500-rupee denomination.

Additionally, they recovered white papers intended for printing fake currency and two mobile phones. The arrested individuals, Md Rofiqul Islam (34) and Sirajul Alom (25), are undergoing legal procedures following their arrest and the seizure of the counterfeit notes.
