Assam to Host ₹27,000 Crore Semiconductor Facility by 2025

Assam is set to establish a ₹27,000 crore Semiconductor Assembly and Test (TSAT) Facility in Jagiroad, backed by Tata Group. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the facility, expected to produce 48 million chips daily, will use advanced packaging technologies like flip-chip and ISIP.

Aimed at boosting Assam’s industrial growth and employment, the project involves over 61 raw materials and 150+ suppliers. Progress is on track, with civil construction led by Tata Projects and L&T, and completion slated for mid-2025.
