Assam University Student Critically Injured in Silchar Accident, Students Seek Justice and Aid

A 23-year-old Assam University student, Rosy Deb, is battling for life after a road accident in Silchar on March 28, sparking protests and calls for justice.

The final-year MBA student suffered severe head injuries, a fractured spine, and multiple wounds after being hit by a speeding car at Ambicapatty. She is currently under critical care at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati, with treatment costs estimated at ₹50–60 lakh.

Students alleged the accused were intoxicated during the incident. The three individuals were caught by locals and handed over to police, with an investigation underway.

Seeking support, students tried to meet Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and have also appealed through local leaders for financial assistance.

Meanwhile, students have launched a crowdfunding campaign, urging the public and government to help cover medical expenses and ensure strict action against those responsible.
