Assam Women’s University to Launch Two New Departments

Assam Women’s University (AWU), the only women’s university in Northeast India, will introduce departments of Petroleum Science and Technology and Commerce from the 2026-27 session. A one-year diploma in Petroleum Science and Technology and a six-month Commerce certificate programme will be launched. The Petroleum course is designed with Dibrugarh University to meet oil sector demands, while the Commerce course, supported by NISM Mumbai, covers GST, Tally, Payroll, TDS, and ITR with an internship. AWU currently offers 44 programmes and will soon shift to its new campus at Teok Koliapani.
