Assamese Films Shine at 70th National Film Awards

Two Assamese non-feature films received special mention at the 70th National Film Awards. Hargila-The Greater Adjutant Stork, directed by IPS officer Partha Sarathi Mahanta, highlights conservation efforts for the endangered bird. Aimee Baruah’s Birubala was also recognized. Additionally, Emuthi Puthi, Xunyota, and Sikaisal won awards for Best Assamese Feature Film, Best Short Film, and Best Tiwa Feature Film, respectively.
