Assamese Recognized as Classical Language, PPFA Thanks Union Government

The Patriotic People’s Front Assam (PPFA) has thanked the Union government for recognizing Assamese as a classical language, joining the ranks of Tamil, Sanskrit, and others. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that this recognition will help preserve the rich heritage of the Assamese language. The PPFA emphasized the importance of making Assamese internet-friendly and addressing spelling issues in dictionaries, while also calling for the inclusion of more words from the Kamrupiya dialect.
