Attack on Assam Congress President’s Residence Sparks Political Outcry

The Congress party alleged that miscreants attacked the private residence of State Congress president Bhupen Kumar Borah in Bihpuria, Lakhimpur district, on Saturday night. According to a press release by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), the attackers damaged doors, windows, and grills, vandalized the bedroom, and looted items from the locker. The incident occurred in the absence of police security, and Borah was not present at the time, as he was visiting flood-affected areas. The APCC called on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to assess the threat to Borah’s life, describing the incident as a “political conspiracy” and an attempt to intimidate party members.
