ATTSA Demow Seeks Action Against Illegal Liquor in Tea Garden Areas

The Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA), Demow branch, submitted a memorandum to the Co-District Commissioner of Demow on December 12, raising concern over the growing circulation of illegal sulai and luxury liquor in tea gardens, villages, and slum areas.
The association said the rising liquor trade is harming social and educational environments and contributing to early mortality within the tea community. ATTSA demanded immediate action to curb illegal liquor circulation, with copies of the memorandum sent to district and police authorities in Sivasagar.
