Before the New Year the Transport Department conducts raids at multiple locations in Guwahati

The Transport Department in Guwahati conducted raids at multiple locations on Thursday, ahead of the upcoming picnic season and New Year’s festivities.

All vehicles—four-wheelers and two-wheelers alike—have undergone extensive inspections, and the alcohol content of each one was also measured using breathalysers.

According to sources, drivers under the influence of alcohol will face harsh penalties from the transport department.
