An explosion caused panic in army camp in Assam and Locals

On Thursday night, December 14, a strange explosion shook the Lichubari army camp in Jorhat, Assam. The incident happened after the Sivasagar district grenade explosion.

The explosion caused panic among the locals in the army camp’s 41 sub-area, which prompted the authorities to act quickly to take preventative measures.

In a statement, the ULFA-I said that the recent operation in Jorhat was intended to warn those in positions of power rather than to hurt the indigenous people or the Assam Police. The group also forewarned G.P. Singh, the director general of police in Assam, not to take the state of politics in the state into account when determining law and order.
