Bhattadev University Scholar Detained Over Molestation Allegations

Bhattadev University research scholar Lakhyajyoti Das was detained after a female student accused him of molestation. Multiple complaints of misconduct had been previously lodged against him. While some students claim he admitted to the allegations before later denying them, Das insists he is innocent. The victim has filed an FIR, and police are investigating. Meanwhile, in a separate case, a minor girl was allegedly molested at Assam University, Silchar, on January 31. The accused, a non-teaching staff member, was arrested by Cachar Police.
