Bihmari Bongaon Village Gets Electricity After 78 Years of Independence

Behali: Residents of Bihmari Bongaon village in Assam’s Behali Assembly constituency have received electricity for the first time, ending 78 years of life without power. Until now, families depended on kerosene lamps for lighting, while students studied under dim light and households struggled through the summer without fans.

Villagers expressed gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and local representatives, saying electricity will improve education, daily life and future opportunities for children, marking a historic milestone for the village.
