Bishnupriya Manipuri Groups to Hold Procession Seeking Autonomous Council

Various Bishnupriya Manipuri organizations, under the Bishnupriya Manipuri Sainik Welfare Organization, will take out a procession in Silchar on January 19, 2026, demanding the creation of a Bishnupriya Manipuri Autonomous Council in Assam. The rally will begin near Bhagadahar Srimandap and a memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Minister through the Cachar District Commissioner. Similar processions are planned later in Sribhumi and Hailakandi districts.
