BJP Leader Jayanta Bora Resigns After Being Denied By-election Ticket

BJP leader Jayanta Bora resigned from the party on Friday after being denied a ticket for the upcoming Behali by-elections. Bora, who ran independently in 2021, submitted his resignation to state BJP chief Bhabesh Kalita. Speculation is rife that he may join the Congress Party. Bora stated that he wants to pursue other avenues better aligned with his beliefs. The by-elections, set for November 13, were triggered by MLA Ranjit Dutta’s victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
