BJP Targets Rahul Gandhi After Assam Congress Resignation Row

The BJP on Monday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “failed dynast” and alleging that neither his party leaders nor allies have confidence in him.
The attack followed the resignation letter sent by former Assam Congress president Bhupen Borah to party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, in which he complained of being ignored by the leadership. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla claimed the episode showed a “no confidence” situation in Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.
The BJP also cited recent remarks by senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar, which drew embarrassment for the party, to reinforce its criticism. BJP leaders Pradeep Bhandari and Poonawalla said repeated dissent from Congress leaders and allies reflected growing rejection of Rahul Gandhi.
