Bodoland Day Celebrated in Kokrajhar, CM Announces ₹1,000 Cr for Infrastructure

The 24th Bodoland Day was celebrated across the Bodoland Territorial Region on Tuesday, with a major event in Kokrajhar attended by around 50,000 people. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recalled the BTC Accord of 2003 and highlighted peace and development in the region.

The Chief Minister announced the release of ₹1,000 crore this financial year for roads and bridges in Bodoland. BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary termed the day historic and highlighted welfare initiatives, during which beneficiaries were given financial assistance, land pattas, and certificates.
