Body of Minor Recovered from Digli River in Assam’s Cachar District
In a tragic incident, the lifeless body of a young child, approximately 3 years old, was found in the waters of the Digli River near the Assam-Manipur border in Cachar district. The incident was reported to the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) at 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday. SDRF personnel promptly initiated a rescue and recovery operation, which continued until Wednesday afternoon. Ultimately, the minor’s body was located approximately 3 kilometers downstream from the spot where the drowning occurred. The authorities transported the body to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination1.
