Bongaigaon Congress Protests Alleged Corruption in Jal Jeevan Mission

The Bongaigaon District Congress on Tuesday staged a protest alleging large-scale corruption in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission. District Congress president Girish Baruah termed the scheme a “flop” and accused Assam JJM in-charge Jayanta Mallabaruah of responsibility for alleged irregularities.

He claimed high per-family costs, irregular water supply, and exclusion of water-scarce areas, demanding a thorough probe. The Congress warned of intensified protests if corrective action is not taken.
