Border Pass Mandatory for Mizoram-Myanmar Crossings

The Centre has enforced a border pass requirement for residents within 10 km of the 510 km-long Mizoram-Myanmar border. Effective from December 31, the pass aims to regulate cross-border movement. Issued by security agencies, it impacts six districts in Mizoram and is valid for seven days. Residents must provide proof of residence near the border, valid for a year. Crossing points at Zokhawthar and Hnahlan operate Monday to Saturday, 6:00 am to 3:30 pm. Passes are issued per adult, with provisions for minors on a parent’s pass.
