Brutal Vigilante Justice Unfolds in Assam: Another Man Tortured on Suspected Theft

In yet another disturbing incident, a person in Assam’s South Salmara-Mankachar district faced brutal torture by a group of individuals on suspicion of theft. The irate mob tied the victim to a tree in Bhimapara village, under the jurisdiction of Kharuwabandha Police Station, accusing him of stealing a mobile phone. The victim, a resident of Hatsingimari, was thrashed and tormented by the locals after being apprehended. This incident follows closely on the heels of another case in Cachar’s Katigorah, where a youth was held captive, brutally beaten, and publicly shamed for alleged bike theft. The authorities were informed, and the Cachar police arrived at the scene to take the youth, identified as Abjal Hussain, into custody.
