BTC adopts a resolution on child rights and Green Bodoland
On Thursday, the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar, hosted the one-day winter session of the BTC.
Following extensive discussion, the Bodoland Legislative Assembly members approved two significant resolutions in the house.
Of the two resolutions, the first proposed to turn Bodoland green by allocating 1% of the budget to large-scale tree plantations in BTR, reducing pollution caused by plastic, managing groundwater sustainably, conserving wetlands, etc.
BTR seeks to establish a region free from child labour, child marriage, child exploitation, and child trafficking in another resolution that focuses on children’s rights. A 2% budget has been set aside for the same purpose.
