The Guwahati Police Commissioner urges people to follow the law during the New Year’s festivities

Guwahati’s Commissioner of Police, Giganta Barah, has urged people to take the appropriate safety measures so that, in coming New Year’s Eve, there will be no circumstance in which joy turns to grief.

Speaking to the media, the police commissioner stated that it has been discovered in recent years that certain citizens use drugs or alcohol and create unanticipated situations. Diganta Barah said “I cannot tell people not to consume alcohol, but I request that those who consume the same maintain decency. I also request the citizens not to drive after drinking and not to break any of the laws of the land in the name of the New Year celebration,”.
