Bus Crash in Jorhat Injures 15, Driver Allegedly Fled

A bus collided with a stationary truck in Teok, Jorhat district, injuring at least 15 people, including a child, on Monday night. The bus, returning from an ‘Aatmanirbhar Assam’ event in Guwahati, crashed into the parked truck at Mudoijan Tiniali. Deepak Kurmi, a passenger, and the bus handyman sustained serious injuries, while others suffered minor to moderate injuries. Passengers alleged the driver was under the influence of alcohol and fled the scene after the crash. Local police transported the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
