NIA Charges Three for Promoting CPI (Maoist) Ideology in Assam
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet against three individuals for promoting the violent ideology of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) in Assam. The accused are Sabyasachi Goswami, a senior CPI (Maoist) leader, Amiruddin Ahmed, and his absconding wife Nirmala Biswas.
The NIA reported that the trio was actively involved in spreading Maoist ideology and inciting violent revolution as part of an anti-India conspiracy. They allegedly set up bases in Assam’s Barak Valley, targeting vulnerable communities to expand their network.
Ahmed, arrested earlier by Assam Police’s Special Task Force, and Biswas were said to be organizing secret meetings in isolated areas to further their agenda. Goswami was tasked with reorganizing Maoist activities in Assam under the direction of the group’s Eastern Regional Bureau.
