Cachar’s Lakhipur Pineapple Reaches Dubai, Buyer-Seller Meet Boosts Export Prospects

Silchar: Cachar’s famous Lakhipur-grown pineapple has reached Dubai, marking a major achievement for local farmers and highlighting the fruit’s growing export potential. To further expand domestic and international markets, APEDA, in collaboration with the Cachar district administration, organised a buyer-seller meet focused on improving post-harvest management, value addition and market linkages. Assam Minister Kaushik Rai said the initiative would help farmers secure better prices, reduce post-harvest losses and strengthen exports of the region’s renowned Kew variety of pineapple.
