Tiger Population in Assam’s Nameri Reserve Rises from 3 to 12

Sonitpur: Assam’s Nameri National Park and Tiger Reserve has recorded a sharp rise in its tiger population, increasing from just three in 2022 to 12 by the end of 2025, Forest and Environment Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah announced. He also said two tigers have returned to the Sonai-Rupai Wildlife Sanctuary after decades, calling it a major milestone in the state’s wildlife conservation efforts.
