Cattle Head Found Near Naamghar in Lakhimpur, Seven Arrested

A severed cattle head was found near a Naamghar in Chiring Chuk, Lakhimpur, triggering communal tension concerns. Police arrested seven suspects from nearby villages. Locals fear it’s a deliberate attempt to disrupt harmony. This is the first such case in Upper Assam, echoing recent incidents in Dhubri and Goalpara. Villagers urged peace and demanded strict action. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier announced a “shoot-at-sight at night” order to curb such provocations. The government has vowed firm action to maintain communal harmony.
