CBI Arrests Absconding NPCC Case Convict in Guwahati

The CBI arrested absconding convict Tamanna Chakma, also known as Tamie May, in Guwahati on Saturday in a misappropriation case linked to NPCC Ltd. She was detained from the Geeta Nagar area following sustained surveillance. Chakma had been convicted in May 2024 by a special CBI court in Aizawl but had evaded arrest. The 2010 case involves alleged misappropriation of compensation bills at NPCC’s Silchar office. The CBI said she will be produced before a Guwahati court for transit remand before being taken to Aizawl.
