CBI Arrests SBI Officer in Assam for Taking ₹16,000 Bribe

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an Assistant Manager and Loan Officer of State Bank of India at the Gumi branch in Kamrup district for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹16,000.
The officer reportedly demanded the money to process loan applications for rooftop solar electrification projects. Acting on a complaint filed on March 12, the CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting the bribe.
