CBI Probes ₹45 Lakh ONGC Medical Bill Fraud in Jorhat

CBI has registered a case against ex-ONGC DGM Bijoy Kumar Shaw, a former medical officer, and eight medical shop owners for a ₹45 lakh medical bill fraud in Jorhat. Between 2019 and 2022, fake medicine requisitions were issued without beneficiary consent. An ONGC inquiry revealed 340 out of 905 respondents denied receiving medicines. Incriminating documents were recovered during searches. Investigation is ongoing.
