CM Unveils Roadmap for Rural Economy, Job Boost, and Tourism in Assam
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a major rural development plan focusing on self-reliance in dairy, poultry, and pork production. He distributed 481 job appointment letters and promised 40,000 more by October. The government aims to boost milk processing to 10 lakh litres daily, reduce egg imports, and achieve pork self-sufficiency. Biogas use and hybrid cow breeding are also key goals. In tourism, Sarma highlighted Kaziranga’s national ranking and plans to develop Manas and Dima Hasao into major tourist hubs.
