Centre Releases ₹5,412 Crore to Assam as Tax Devolution
The central government has released ₹5,412 crore to Assam as part of tax devolution. Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, stating the funds will support welfare schemes. The Union Government distributed ₹1.73 lakh crore among 26 states, significantly increasing from ₹89,086 crore in December 2024. Major allocations include ₹13,017 crore to West Bengal, ₹7,057 crore to Tamil Nadu, and ₹31,039 crore to Uttar Pradesh. The funds aim to boost capital spending and welfare activities, as per Finance Commission recommendations.
