Child Rescued After Being Sold by Maternal Uncle in Udalguri

A child from Assam’s Udalguri district was rescued from Arunachal Pradesh after being allegedly sold for ₹50,000 by their maternal uncle, Gyan Bahadur Bhugal. The Udalguri Child Helpline and police recovered the child and handed them over to Shishu Kalyan Samiti. Udalguri has seen 142 child-related crimes in the past year, including trafficking and child marriage. Authorities have launched an anti-human trafficking campaign to raise awareness and prevent such incidents.
