Clashes in Biswanath: Protesters and Police Clash Over Effigy Burning

Chaos erupted in Assam’s Biswanath on Saturday during a protest by the Asom Sankhayalaghu Sangram Parishad against rising prices. The protest, held near Clock Tower in Biswanath Nagar, escalated when police intervened to stop protesters from burning an effigy of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass. An altercation ensued, but the police successfully prevented the effigy from being burned.
