Class IX Student Killed by Train in Tamulpur, Locals Protest Over Delayed Bridge Project

Tamulpur: A Class IX student, Ananya Deka of Gurmow High School, was killed after being hit by a train while crossing a railway bridge at Dalongghat in Goreswar on Sunday. Two other students accompanying her narrowly escaped the accident.

Following the tragedy, local residents staged a protest, blaming the incident on the failure to complete a bridge project that has remained pending since 2010. Protesters demanded immediate completion of the long-delayed bridge and better infrastructure to ensure the safety of commuters and schoolchildren in the area.
