Close Call at Rail Crossing: Jan Shatabdi Express Narrowly Avoids Disaster in Collision with Goods Vehicle

In a harrowing incident near Lamajuar in Badarpur, Karimganj district, the 12098-Khongsang-Agartala Jan Shatabdi Express collided with a goods-carrying vehicle on Thursday. The collision occurred when a mini truck, with registration number AS 10 AC 4683, attempted to cross the rail crossing without authorization. Fortunately, the quick response prevented a fatal disaster, and both the truck driver and hundreds of railway passengers escaped unharmed. However, the vehicle suffered extensive damage due to the collision. Sources attribute the crash to the mini truck’s ill-fated attempt to cross the rail crossing in the path of the approaching train. A Government Railway Police (GRP) team reached the site to manage the situation and retrieve the damaged mini truck.
