CM Sarma Proposes Army Base in Dhubri Amid Communal Tensions

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced plans to explore setting up a permanent Army base near Dhubri to enhance border security. During a visit following communal unrest over alleged beef dumping near a temple, he said 150 arrests have been made and main accused Mintu Ali is absconding. Beef sales near religious places will be banned. Sarma also blamed officials for unauthorized cattle entry and warned of strict action. He criticized Congress MP Rakibul Hussain amid ongoing investigations.
