CoBRA Deployment to Boost Security in Manipur: Home Minister

Imphal: Manipur Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam said the deployment of two Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) units will strengthen law and order efforts in the state.

The specialised CRPF commandos, trained in jungle warfare and counter-insurgency operations, are expected to support security forces in tackling violence and restoring stability. Several CoBRA units have already arrived and are preparing for full deployment.

The move is part of the Centre’s broader efforts to improve security and restore normalcy in conflict-affected Manipur.
