College Student Killed After Tree Falls on Scooter in Guwahati

Guwahati: A college student, Parismita Hazarika of Pandu College, died after a tree collapsed onto the scooter she was travelling on in the Bhootnath Kalipur area on Friday while on her way to an examination.

The rider, Jyotirmoy Mohan, was rescued, while Parismita suffered critical injuries and later succumbed at a hospital. The incident has sparked public outrage, with the All Assam Students’ Union alleging negligence by authorities and demanding a thorough inquiry, accountability, and compensation for the victim’s family.
